A tall and slender brass flower vase from the Kashmir region, Northern India, richly decorated with intricate hand-engraved motifs and filled with vibrant red and black enamel inlay. The tulip-form silhouette rises from a gently flared base to a narrow mouth, its surface densely patterned with arabesques, floral scrollwork, and stylized chinar leaves. This tradition of metal-inlay work, known locally as naqashi, flourished under Mughal and post-Mughal patronage and remains a hallmark of Kashmiri artistry. The tactile surface and rhythmic symmetry speak to the centuries-old techniques passed down through generations of skilled artisans. A decorative object of remarkable balance and craftsmanship, equally suited for display or use as a ceremonial vessel.
